From #000000 to #FFFFFF

I like to put something personal in my photography projects. So in this one I took pictures in Quinta da Regaleira, that is a local reference in Sintra, Portugal. I went there a lot of times and for me is a place to relax and forget the stuff that is messing with my head. Of course with all the tourists that are coming to Portugal now, things turn out to be more chaotic, but for me is still a special place.

The objective was to take pictures in the place and not from the place. What I mean is that I took photos of some details, in order to not show the more touristic side. I want it to be unique and not like a picture that anyone could take. For the people who know the place, certainly some details can give the place away, but for that same reason I chose to make a grey scale effect. It starts really dark with details of the caves, the underground, the bottom, and then it begins to brighten up to the top, the place where the light is.

'Dark and light complement each other.'
From the project 'FROM #000000 TO #FFFFFF' a book was created. All made by hand, and with a very simple layout, to show the photographs in the gray scale, from 'black' (#000000) to 'white' (#FFFFFF).
